Ruger Wiley Clapp GP100 Features
The Ruger Wiley Clapp GP100 revolver is a six-shot double-action revolver manufactured by Sturm, Ruger & Company. It was introduced in 1991 as a replacement for the Ruger Security-Six and the service-oriented SP101. The GP100 is available with a 3-, 4-, 5-, or 6-inch barrel and blued or stainless steel frames and cylinders.
The Wiley Clapp GP100 is a rugged, large frame revolver with fixed sights and a standard trigger pull of 14 pounds on all models except the Bisley which has a target hammer, adjustable sights and trigger pull of 12 pounds. The cylinder release latch is located at the rear of the frame behind the cylinder. The GP100 features a transfer bar safety mechanism making it suitable for use with all types of ammunition, including hollow point self defense rounds.
The gun features a 6-round cylinder and has adjustable sights. The grip is made of hard rubber and features smooth walnut inserts. The trigger pull is smooth with no creep. The gun uses a transfer bar safety system to prevent accidental discharges if dropped while carrying it loaded
